Former “GMA3: What You Need to Know” co-hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are opening up about their relationship for the first time. The couple, who were first romantically linked in November 2022, have been sharing their story on their new iHeartRadio podcast, “Amy & T.J.”
In the latest episode of the podcast, Robach and Holmes discuss how they met, their initial attraction to each other, and the challenges they faced when their relationship became public.
Robach and Holmes first met in 2019 when they were both co-hosts of “GMA3.” They quickly became friends, but they didn’t start dating until after Robach’s divorce from her husband, Andrew Shue, was finalized in 2022.
“We were both in a really vulnerable place,” Robach said. “We were both going through a lot in our personal lives, and we found comfort in each other.”
Holmes echoed Robach’s sentiment. “We just clicked,” he said. “We had a lot in common, and we just felt a connection.”
The couple’s relationship became public in November 2022 when photos of them kissing were published by the Daily Mail. The photos sparked a media frenzy, and Robach and Holmes were placed on hiatus from “GMA3.”
“It was a really difficult time,” Robach said. “We were just trying to figure out our relationship, and we were suddenly thrust into the spotlight.”
Holmes said that he and Robach were “shocked” by the reaction to their relationship. “We didn’t think it would be such a big deal,” he said.
After a few weeks, Robach and Holmes returned to “GMA3.” They said that they learned a lot from the experience, and they are grateful for the support of their fans.
“We’re just happy to be together,” Robach said. “We don’t care what anyone else thinks.”
In the latest episode of their podcast, Robach and Holmes also discussed their future plans. They said that they are taking things slow, but they are excited to see what the future holds.
“We’re just enjoying each other’s company,” Holmes said. “We’re not putting any pressure on ourselves.”
